Setting the deadline is 'being outdated' ??

Hello,

Here is your companion trainer, Shiori.

The secret to successful dieting is often said to be setting specific goals, such as "lose X kilograms by a certain date."

However, in my recent personal opinion, it might be better not to set a deadline!

The reason is that when you set a deadline, it often leads to a mentality of enduring until that specific date, pushing yourself too hard, and a high likelihood of rebounding afterward. I frequently see people who diet for events like weddings or resort vacations where they plan to wear a swimsuit, only to return to their original weight or, in some cases, gain even more weight afterward.

However, some might argue that without a deadline, it's hard to stay motivated. Still, as mentioned in my previous blog, if a diet isn't sustainable, it might be better not to attempt it in the first place.

Of course, if you have a specific event in mind for weight loss, I wouldn't discourage it. However, for those who aim to maintain their ideal body shape over a lifetime, it's crucial to adopt a diet that allows you to set achievable goals and maintain them.

Personally, I don't have specific events like weddings or dress-wearing occasions, but I'm consistently working on maintaining good conditions, updating my knowledge about exercise and nutrition, and striving for a healthy lifestyle.

If someone were to suddenly tell me to put on a swimsuit tomorrow (even though it's not happening, haha), I'd be ready for it!

So...

While I don't reject the idea of setting a deadline for a diet, aiming to "live in my ideal shape" is the key to avoiding rebound.
