Why do people tend to gain weight when they travel?
Hello everyone,
Whether you're here for the first time or a regular reader, thank you for joining me!
I'm your companion trainer, Starter Shiori.
I've returned from Hiroshima and am currently on Kouri Island.
Yesterday was cloudy, but today is perfectly clear! The scenery is absolutely stunning!
Now, now, amidst all this, let's talk about the "issue of gaining weight while traveling" today.
When you go on a trip, I understand that there are lots of delicious meals and often more reliance on car travel, which can lead to gaining weight. However, as I've mentioned several times before:
Traveling = Gaining weight
is not always the case.
In the first place, the reason for gaining weight is, indeed, related to factors like excessive eating and lack of exercise. However, more significant than that is the fact that "existing habits are disrupted."
This doesn't only happen during the trip; it continues even after returning home. Because, gaining a bit of weight over a couple of days of indulgence isn't going to cause a significant increase in weight, right?
While it might sound tempting to take it easy during a trip, the key is not to try to establish habits around exercises that you don't enjoy.
In reality, the habits I've developed include enjoyable morning stretches, relaxing massages before bedtime, and incorporating fun walks into my routine.
None of these habits are difficult, and they can be done anywhere, even during trips. This year, I've traveled to various places such as Australia, Nikko, Sendai, Hiroshima, and now, Kouri Island, but I've managed to maintain these enjoyable habits everywhere.
Even after returning home, these habits haven't been interrupted, and thanks to that, my weight has actually decreased.
So, create a habit of enjoyable exercises that you can do during your travels and that won't be interrupted even after you return. Let's make it happen!
